The Apollo 15 mission was the first to use the Lunar Rover. This super lightweight buggy helped to increase the roaming capabilities of the astronauts in their EVA's. The primary objective of the mission was to view the surface, survey the surrounding area and to bring back sample material. This was the first mission to televise the lift off of the crew from the surface of the Moon.
